Holidays
You use the Holidays data grid to define the periods of time in which your resources and or processes are not working.
To define different holidays for specific date ranges, you can use multiple rows in the data grid.
Columns in the Holidays Data Grid
| Column |
Description |
| Repeat each |
The period after which the holiday repeats. Options are:
- Week: The holiday is repeated starting on the same day every week.
- Month: The holiday repeats on the same day of each month.
- Year: The holiday repeats on the same date each year.
- Once: The holiday occurs only on the date selected.
|
| When |
The day or date on which the holiday occurs.
The options listed for this field change based on the value you select for the Repeat each field.
If the holiday is repeated every week, the days of the week are listed.
If the holiday is repeated every month, the numbers 1 to 31 are displayed.
If the holiday is repeated every year, or only once, you can enter a date, or you can use the calendar button to select the date using a calendar.
Note: When you use the calendar, you ensure that the date is entered in the correct format.
|
| Duration |
The duration of the holiday in days.
The duration must be a positive real number. For example, a duration of 0.5 is a half day holiday and a duration of 1.25 is a 30 hour holiday.
|
| Frequency |
How often the holiday occurs.
The frequency is expressed as how many instances occur in each period, where the unit of time for the period is defined by the Repeat each value.
For example, if the Frequency is 1 in 1 and the Repeat each value is Week, the holiday is repeated every week. If the Frequency is 1 in 2 and the Repeat each value is Month, the holiday is repeated every second month. If the Frequency is 2 in 3 and the Repeat each value is Year, the holiday is repeated two years out of every three years. So in a schedule starting in 2020 and ending in 2030, the holiday would occur in 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2026, 2027, 2029, 2030.
You can use any combination of characters and spaces to separate the two numbers for the frequency.
